People’s Park, 41st anniversary celebration, April 25th from 11am to 5p. From the CopWatch folks of the Grassroots House in Berkeley. Been meaning to get over there – not been back to Berkeley in quite a while, years – must’ve been, the last time, when my Odd Fellow brother, lodge brother, Pete, sent me to the Bancroft Library to get photos for his history of the fraternal order. Like a rhyme in the e-mail: “come table with us if you’re able…”

Satin Crystals – one of the unique stores along the Polk Street zone – Middle Polk, as opposed to the Tenderloiny part to the south, and the higher rent area beginning, I’d say, north of the major Broadway artery. Lived in the area for about a year not long ago, so was able to get a good sense of the terrain. Anyway, like the occurrences at this store – Lisa Satin is just one of the Satins there, I think – been meaning to go over and make a joke about her and “Satan” in collusion, since her last name’s very similar, but for the vowels…”a slew of brand new tumbles” are in, whatever those are.

Nichols Research – upcoming project related to depression – Nichols assembles groups and individuals in order to gather data for their clients, which include corporations and advertising agencies. Went to one such event once with a friend, and we both got 75 bucks. So signed up for this one. Final question in the application was whether I’d been diagnosed with depression in the last five years – answered “no”, but then immediately thought my chances of acceptance might’ve been better if I’d responded in the affirmative.

Last Gasp – their adult mail-order catalog – skipping this e-mail, but thought I’d mention L.G. anyway – currently wanting a Tim Leary spoken word disc from them, 7 bucks, and am not in the market for any sexual material. But they’ve got a lot of it.

Melissa Griffin, Examiner political columnist – get her e-versions of her print work regularly. Must admit a lot of her details are just more than I want to attend to right now, but she really seems to have her fingers on the various pulses of local Supervisors and other worthies in City Hall. Responded to her most recent post not with any intelligent comments about politics, but with a link to this blog, wherein I referred to her recent mention of Druid doings in Golden Gate Park – possibly of interest to her since a search online for “melissa griffin druids” brings up my site. Heck, she probably doesn’t mind her name in additional search results. Especially ones on the up and up and now the down low.

Box of Fudge, from Rhino, a 4 CD collection of Vanilla Fudge, 41 tracks, 15 previously unreleased. Features an 11 by 17 recreation of a Family Dog poster. Text says: “…it’s one sweet set.” I have a place for this item in my mind and heart.

Mark Ellinger, photographer – see his Up from the Deep set of photos and text of/about the city, as well as his Dancing on Thin Ice blog – go to MOFO 0015, as I said, for links to those – sent me a great, strong set of two paragraphs he wrote entitled “Political Correctness” – he’s agin’ it, in no uncertain terms – he says the term was “contrived” by brutally repressive Chinese Communist Party leaders as a tool for social control. His words got me to thinking a bit in ways I usually don’t.

The Yankee and Cowboy War by Carl Oglesby – admit I haven’t read it, but the title always struck a chord with me in terms of a larger sense of American politics, an East/West bifurcation. Friend sent this sentence about it : “I’ve got a theory that the ruling classes have their clashing realms: the Right tried to control through business and finance; the Left uses government to maintain power.” More thought food. Eat up.

Amazake – put in mind of that delicious, creamy, sweet drink by an e-mail from the Erewhon market on Beverly Boulevard in L.A. – it’s not Rainbow Grocery, that’s for sure, but it was a nearly daily stop when I was in Tinseltown for two months last year.

The Grateful Dead, their influence – the Wolfgang’s Vault newsletter features posters for bands under their influence, like Widespread Panic and Leftover Salmon. All part of “the free-flowing music genre”, says the write-up. Relevant also, it says, since today is 4/20. And Taurus begins today, or soon…a hundred-80 degrees distinct from my own astrological tribe of Scorpio – a fixed sign, Taurus is, like Scorpio, but its element is earth, while mine is water. As Bruce Lee said, be like water, my friend.

Om Shan Tea – always something interesting happening there, even apart from the weekly temple dancer events on Fridays. Mention of the Federation of Damanhur in their new newsletter – affiliated with the Temples of Humankind – “an extraordinary underground work of art dedicated to the reawakening of the divine essence in every human being.” Don’t sound too shabby to me – Damanhur said to be a northern Italian “spiritual eco-society”. Something to look up and think on…presentation at the 14th Street near South Van Ness location on the 22nd, 7 to 10pm…Shama Viola will speak.

Matt Monarch and The Raw Food World information – like his article about the confusion about the concepts of acidic versus alkaline, in terms of our body systems…a lot of interesting information and products there, of value to some.

Saber tooth cat skull fossils – new consignment of them for those so inclined towards such artifacts at Paxton Gate on the 800 block of Valencia – I suppose that whole Valencia Strip from 16th to 24th is my current most favorite boulevard in San Fashionisco…don’t imagine these are within my budget, even if I wanted to have one, which I don’t, but they could be something to look at as part of a stroll along that strip.

Richard Nash, formerly of Soft Skull Press – article about him at the Alterati: The Other Culture site brought him to mind. Have heard of that publishing imprint but haven’t focused on it, but sounds like something some of you would be interested in…Nash said by the Utne Reader to be one of the fifty visionaries changing the world – another source considers dude the primary Twitter user changing the shape of publishing. So I present him here for your consideration.

Borderlands Café, also along that Valencia Strip – like the Rigoberto Hernandez article from a few months back about the establishment. The only coffee shop I go to in that area…tho’ underground comix artist Cameron Forsley apparently prefers Muddy Waters nearer to 16th Street…we have finally agreed upon a price for a piece of his art I asked for, and I’ll be meeting him soon, I guess at Muddy Waters, to make the exchange, inked paper for inked paper. He says it’s “rad”. I’ve got hopes for it.

The New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty – START – a recent Care 2 Action Alert informs me that the U.S. and Russia have just signed this, a step towards reducing the world’s arsenals of nuclear arms…the message says to urge senators to ratify it. Guess that’s a good idea? I tend not to think of all the real weapons of massive destruction poised upon total global annihilation, but that’s why I subscribe to Care 2, to get a little bit of that into consciousness, for better or verse.

Lemurian Crystal Ormus, from RawGuru, to change the subject, perhaps – “contains superconducting nanoparticles of monoatomic gold” and other precious metals – a rare, unique product – 50 grams, 80 bucks. I do like the rare and unique. Don’t want a saber tooth cat skull, but would like a good quantity of these crystals.

Rapport – thinking of this human (and android) communications subject related to one of the workers at the Beat Museum up in North Beach, who – whom? – I had what I took to be a nice conversation with a while back. Thinking of that fine venue due to museum proprietor Jerry Cimino asking to be removed from my e-mail contact list after I’d sent him a link about the word “ephemera”…didn’t take that rebuff too hard, tho’ I did want to connect with him in some manner. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all. Decent place, keeping alive the spirit of the Beatnik “Era” – upcoming this summer, running for a few months, a changing exhibit about the counterculture.

Unconscious human interaction – phrase used in the Wickedpedia entry for “rapport” – which leads to the entry for “unconscious communication” – something to study. See MOFO 0013 at 2012ad.com for links to this and other words here.

Evil – got to the Wickedpedia entry for this, which begins with this nice summation: “the wilfull disregard of the norms of society in ways that cause suffering, destruction, or death.” “Willfull” misspelled, so that may say something…thinking of evil because of a friend and I e-discussing Manhattanization in San Fashionisco – I said that Manhattan was a much older city than S.F. and therefore more evil, potentially evil. Got that idea from the Argento father/daughter flick Mother of Tears, set in Rome, which is said in the movie to be two thousand years old and more and therefore full of a history of evil deeds, layers of them as the city kept building atop previous levels.

Mother of Tears, speaking of which – saw it about a year ago – not generally into horror, but am an Asia Argento fan and was able to get a free copy. Could stand, I guess, to see it again, but there are for sure more than a couple of over-the-top gory scenes, and wouldn’t have been there in the first place if not for Asia’s presence. Same for the hardcore porn flick Pirates 2 – wouldn’t have made an effort to see it were it not for the small but effective turn by Sasha Grey, a performance artist I admire much.

Louis’ – the diner out by Ocean Beach – a San Fashionisco tradition – not long for this world, I believe – friend and his sister went there recently and he wasn’t impressed. But I’m a fan of older S.F. and am not particularly happy seeing landmarks like this place pass. But such is the way of the city, and cities in general, and life, no?

Immediatism – Hakim Bey article – recommended, as is pretty much all by him, under the Bey name and as Peter Lamborn Wilson also. Thought of it related to something in a friend’s e-mail. AK Press surely has a selection of the work, and the Bound Together store on Haight also. And for e-free it looks like much or all of the texts are online.

Merlin’s Herbal Magic Roots Elixir – featured in a new Sunfood e-mail – a hundred and 70 grams, 35 bucks – a blend of 33 wildcrafted and organic herbs and spices, highly alkalizing, highly nutritious. I’d add this to my dietary mix for sure.

Aquarius Records live music event by the Jooklo Duo, from Italy – tonight, the 20th of April, 6pm, at the Valencia store – and they’ll also be at the Café Du Nord. Not gonna be there, probably not even if it was convenient, which it isn’t right now, but I support such occurrences…wanna get to the store’s spoken word section and see what they have in the way of the usual suspects I’m partial to, and new and unusual suspects too.

The S.F. Zine Fest – September 4th and 5th – at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park – which just hosted the Anarchist Book Fair across two days not long ago. Will probably get a zine together out of this material here and offer it up, what the heck. V. Vale of RE/Search will be a special guest, along with Jesse Reklaw, an admired writer, illustrator, and painter I haven’t heard of before. Am currently negotiating with underground comix artist Cameron Forsley for a drawing to grace the cover of my blog-o-zine – details being narrowed, a deal shall surely soon be struck.

Cameron Forsley, San Fashionisco underground comix artist, e-mailed me about completing the piece of work I’d requested from him, but there’s a snag – he wants payment then he’ll e-mail it to me, but it wasn’t clear I wanted the tangible bit of paper he drew on, and a signature, not just the electronic version through e-mail - want the one-of-a-kind creation. Replied to this effect and am waiting to see what he’ll say. This is the first time I’m buying someone’s visual art like this, so it’s a learning process. Want also to meet the artiste himself in personage, probably at the Borderlands Café.

Livable City – signed onto this site – am interested in the quality of life in San Fashionisco, now and in the future – discussion there of the Sunday Streets program where certain block areas this year are closed off to traffic – this already done for the various neighborhood fairs – would like to see permanent closures everywhere – also the compiling of rules for creating pedestrian-friendly buildings…also plans for the Mission Streetscape project. And, as they say, much, much more.

Classmate Connections – get e-mails from them related to whatever qualifies for me as “high school chums”. Am in contact with a few from those days. Honestly, a workable social persona for me in this world and society is not necessarily easy to come by, to generate. Guess I operate on the principle, to some extent, of creating myself new every day. Anyway, a reunion event is coming up soon, and I suppose I’m up for that, with a persona I can get across and is acceptable all around.

Music for Real Airports – an upcoming “live audio-visual event” – in Sheffield, in the U.K. Got onto this Black Dog mailing list and received notice of that. Like the sound of it. Sound a bit Eno-ish, no? Not gonna make it over to Merry Olde, but like to know that such things are occurring, that such happenings are, indeed, happening. And with coverage online, seeing and hearing that can likely be better than just being there?

16th and Mission Comix – speaking of Cameron Forsley – there’s a MySpace site for this publication, the crew of which includes the talented Forsley and several others. I like the underground comix from days of yore (and mine), but this is exciting work because it’s happening here and now…as I said, I’m giving them my support. Also, have been thinking about typing out a set of word balloon content for some underground comic I envision – could call it Road Killer, which name would fit into the extremity of subject matter found in this genre. Could be a parody of life along the Valencia Street Strip, the Valencia Strip. Working on it. Getting to know Forsley a bit.

Tallulah Sulis – new name for me – associated with the Dakini Tantric Temple out there somewhere in the Potrero. Calls herself an erotic coach, educator, performer, and, again, much, much more – she’s also a Certified Somatic Sexologist, whatever that is – and teaches workshops about female ejaculation. Divine Nectar is the new video about this subject. Not for everyone, but I’m interested.

Goddess Tantra – look that up for material related to Tallulah. See the 2012ad site noted in the header to this for links to that and other topics mentioned in this and that.

GoddessTemple.org – another related site to Tallulah Sulis and Goddess Tantra – scanned this – apparently these creators are making a virtual if not an actual temple dedicated to yoginis/dakinis – will provide a link to those words when I post my Mofo site at 2012ad after I’m done with these lines…this inspired by those ancient Indian temples – 64 female figures around a circle, in stone.

Call Me Burroughs – to REALLY radically change subjects – have that special mid-Sixties spoken word disc on my stack of CDs – yeah, still use that archaic tech. The liner notes are very fantastic, apart from the audio…and in terms of Burroughs material, will soon be buying for ten bucks a Charles Gatewood photo of him and Jimmy Page, through V. Vale of RE/Search. Related to their “Rock Magic” interview.

“Indicating”, the idea of it, in acting – not a thing you want to be doing, it’s said by thesps. One site recommends: whatever you are doing, just do it, don’t indicate you’re doing it. Also: “Do not play the result.” And: “In the end, it can’t look like acting.” Reference at this site to “the old man” – must mean good ol’ Stan, Stan Islavski, the famous teacher of “the Method”. I’m not an actor myself, don’t wanna be, but I have found that art very interesting over the years, in movies and on smaller screens.

Monarch Bear Grove – a location in Golden Gate Park – got to thinking of it due to a reference by Melissa Griffin in her Examiner column about Druids doing their thing in the park. I’m somewhat into the druidic/bardic thing, through my interest in Robert “The White Goddess” Graves, so that piqued my curiosity, the Griffin reference, to seek further. I’m at a site with photos – go to the 2012ad site noted in the header to this then to the “Mofo” pages for specific URLs – one Ovate Padraig, a Druid big kahuna, I guess, has a long essay about this grove.

“Higher Consciousness” – like the Wickedpedia entry for it – got to it because the fella who created the site I’m posting the Mofo links on didn’t particularly like my references in a previous posting to a book about prostitutes, their clients, and the police, that three-way dynamic, no pun intended, and also didn’t think a link I posted about dating was appropriate to the higher consciousness theme of our collaborative site. So that got me to thinking. Anyway, I’d recommend this higher consciousness Wickedpedia info – many links embedded for further research, inquiry, thought.

Marc Weinstein, founder of Amoeba Records – filed away an interview with him from the Paste Magazine site – related to the just-passed Record Store Day. Hadn’t heard of this – in fact learned of it first at the site for Aquarius Records, an indie outlet for music on Valencia in San Fashionisco. Tho’ I surely do visit record stores along with indie bookstores I love in the city. Just the other day bought a spoken word disc by William Burroughs at the Haight Ameoba – got a deal, five bucks for it, instead of the usual probably 15, due to slight surface damage that didn’t affect the playing. For sure the record stores are having it tough, in the new digital world. But I like their independent presence and mostly buy from the brick and mortars and not online.

Noni juice – 32 ounces, raw, certified organic, a shade under 28 bucks, down from nearly 37, through Sunfood – online, I might mention. Tho’ Rainbow Grocery probably has it, or something very like it. Something I think would be good to ingest. Was there just yesterday, speaking more of purchases – spent a shade under ten for a shade under a half pound of bulk kelp, four beeswax candles, a little bottle of Rejuvelac – a little, but the right amount – and…a 2-pack of tiny little cupcakes with Guittard chocolate in them, a gift for a friend. So I put my money where my mouth is.

Aquarius Records, speaking of which – get their new arrivals e-mailing – hardly get through any of it, but like having in my e-possession that information. In it the Record Store Day was mentioned. Whoever wrote it, like the apology at the top about the “electronic intrusion” of the e-mail…I really support the store and those like it…currently, am in the market mostly for spoken word CDs – Amoeba Haight has some Tim Leary, Paul Bowles, and more Burroughs I want. Also probably Terence McKenna, and Lenny Bruce, and more…next purchase is likely, from the Last Gasp Warehouse at 777 Florida, a 7 dollar Leary disc, featuring as well an unintentionally humorous BBC segment about LSD, and a reading and interview by Bowles.

“How to Have Presence” – a WikiHow article – read it on my MyTouch smartphone, on the go on the street, got something out of it. Relates to the acting tip about indicating referred to in the first paragraph of this installment of “Nice Times”.

Berkeley Copwatch – on their mailing list also – part of a movement to hold police accountable, directly accountable, for their actions. They work out of the Grassroots House at 2022 Blake near Shattuck.

Alterati.com – “The Inside Scoop on the Outside Culture” – new site I signed up for. Not sure yet just what’s there, but it looks interesting. “Kill your clocks, burn your calendars, and hang out.” is a sample sentence.

Paladin Press – just got the newsletter – a lot of material there, but the one item I’m still considering buying is Hookers, Tricks and Cops by Loren Christiansen. A lot of books here about martial arts, specifically related to brutal street-level techniques like gouging, but I find the subject of this Christiansen book more interesting.

“Chunky soup of plastic in Atlantic” – article by Mike Melia – about a “swirl” of plastic debris found across thousands of miles of the Atlantic. Also called “a soup of micro-particles” – similar to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a “phenomenon” found in the last ten years between Hawaii and California. Where the waste ends up.

1:AM Gallery, Howard and 6th – Lily Black show opening – “custom toy vinyls” and drawings. I like the work shown here more than at many other of the city’s galleries.

Peace Action West – newsletter recommendation by Daniel Ellsberg – “powerful voice of the antiwar movement” – in favor of “peace candidate” Marcy Winograd, who wants to replace Jane Harman in the 36th District in Southern California.

Aisha – name of one of the bellydancers who performs at the Om Shan Tea urban tea oasis – she was drawn to the form “because of the deep beauty and spiritual nature of the dance.” Nouveau Devadasi is the name of this “Temple Dance Performance Salon”.

Peace Action West – another e-mail from them, from Rebecca Griffin, urging calls to Representative Nancy Pelosi to vote against additional funding for the war in Afghanistan, and ultimately an end to the war.

G Living: Darker Cooler Side of Green – like the material at this site, or at least some of it, and I recommend it to your attention. A lot of eco-S.F. articles, such as one about this Living Museum set to open later this year in Golden Gate Park. And ones from superathlete Brendan Brazier about his Thrive Diet – I think he eats only raw plants and still performs remarkably well. And there’s graffiti made from moss in Brooklyn.

Orgono Living Silica – less than sixty bucks for a thousand milliliters – from Sunfood – could be very worth it for some – a mineral lacking, very lacking, in many, most diets. There are cheaper forms of powdered MSM which, I’m pretty sure, provide you with similar substances, available at Rainbow Grocery in San Fashionisco.

Om Shan Tea, the “urban tea oasis” – new e-mail from them about a “StichCraft” event on April 17th from 7 to 10pm – part of the Pleasant Revolution Bicycle Music Tour – “mobile, human-powered festivals” being created around the country related to this. Ayla Nereo will be projecting her music video animations. A lot happening at this place, on 14th near South Van Ness, and want to promote them in this blog.

Arthur Magazine – just got their new bulletin – a lot happening also here – first item of e-biz there was a mention of the recent passing of rock photographer Jim Marshall – said to be “very, very good at his tricky craft.” – and also published in the bulletin, from a 1968 issue of Paul Krassner’s Realist, a Digger communiqué; and 1967 or ’68 Alejandro Jodorowsky full page Mexican color comics.

Anvil Chorus – “underground San Francisco progressive heavy metal” says one site – am getting to know a bit Thaen Rasmussen, guitar player and vocalist. Just got a CD of their album The Killing Sun at the last Odd Fellows meeting. Want to drop these names.

The Spiritual Enrichment Center – 2118 Hayes – an Odd Fellow brother said he attended Sunday 10am services at this location, related to the Science of Mind, featuring Ernest Holmes material. Missed this past gathering, but could see going. The site says there’s a metaphysical bookstore with “New Thought” texts, including those by Shakti Gawain. Her in mind recently because I saw a copy of her Creative Visualization the other day and was thinking of buying it.

The Tiburon Wine Festival – got a Facebook notice about a person I know whose band is performing at this soon – well, it’s really, really off my usual radar, but at least, for what it’s worth, I have some possibility of attending if I wanted, and wanted to pay whatever they’re charging for the show. Generally too rich for my blood, such occurrences. May head to Sausalito on the ferry one day with a friend and get a little sense of that north of Frisco vibe.

United Centers for Spiritual Living – got a list of affirmations from them – such as “I release all ideas of limitation. I know in Spirit all things are possible.” Could be worse things to drum into one’s consciousness.

Last Gasp catalog – got a part of it in an e-mail – am currently wanting from it a seven dollar CD featuring “classic Timothy Leary rants” along with “an unintentionally humorous British acid documentary.” – said in the little write-up to be of interest to DJs and samplers who want to include some of Dr. Tim in their mixes. And in addition, there’s some J.G. Ballard, an interview and a reading of a bit of work. So that’s quite a lot of material for a mere seven bucks. Could be heading to the Last Gasp warehouse at 777 Florida for this.

Burning Women: Widows, Witches, and Early Modern European Travelers in India – by Pompa Banerjee. Found this text when searching to see if the phrase “burning women” had already been used – was thinking of using it myself for some fiction or something. I suppose I also could use the phrase as well.

Rhino – I’m on their e-mail list – five bucks for an MP3 of American Beauty, the Grateful Dead classic – first music this early morning was a bit from the 1978 Egypt performance – the standout track for me just now is probably the over-15 minute “Shakedown Street” – looking good also at Rhino is a four-disc Vanilla Fudge compilation, called “Box of Fudge” – they’re also promoting the new Doors documentary When You’re Strange – CD features pretty much the usual album tracks, featured well in the Tom DiCillo flick, which I just saw, but also Johnny Depp reading a lot of Jimbo Morrison poems, so that’d be worth the 15 bucks to me without a doubt.

Jordan Quintero – local artist – like his take on ancient Egyptian motifs, speaking of Egypt again – he’s showing at the Tweekin record store in the Lower Haight. Somehow got onto his mailing list…making it something of my business to be in touch with local artists of all kinds, including Jordan. More power to him!

Tarot of the Witches, by Fergus Hall – yet another variant on the ancient series of images – used, interestingly, in Live and Let Die, the James Bond Roger Moore flick – with Jane Seymour wielding the cards. As I recall, she has sex with Double-Oh-Seven and thereby loses her ability to divine the future, thereby rendering her useless to the crime lord voodoo guy who’s keeping her, portrayed by Geoffrey Holder, as I recall. (Well, doublechecked that in Wickedpedia – actually, it’s Yaphet Kotto as Kanaga, who uses the virgin tarot reader – but Holder’s in the mix as well as Baron Samedi, Kanaga’s henchman.) Anyway, like the witchy aspect of this deck of cards.

George Carlin – always up for a mention of the man…influential to my thought and humor for sure – something he said frequently pops into consciousness, as he intended. Go to “Funny Story Number 85” online and find the text of his great bit about “stuff”.

Demons of the Flesh: The Complete Guide to Left-Hand Path Sex Magic, by Nikolas Shreck – wanting a copy. Could be hard to find. Want the physical book, not the online version. Tho’ that would be okay to have also. But like “working” with the tangible object. Amazon selling them used for over 200 bucks, so that says something.

Expose Yourself to Art – the famous poster of guy in trenchcoat in front of a statue – see Michael Ryerson’s article about how it came about. I use the phrase every so often in conversation, so that shows it’s a very effective artifact of time-tested pop culture.

The Unknown God: W.T. Smith and the Thelemites, by Martin P. Starr – another book that caught my attention – featured in an online catalog put out by Dan Wininger – 45 bucks – about a Thirties Hollywood group – Crowley-related – called in Los Angeles papers of the time “the Purple Cult” – John Carradine, David’s father, involved in this – tho’ the auto-erotic strangulation death of Kwai Chang may be a warning sign to those interested in this sort of material and behavior – search on “unusual books koma” to find results about this text and others like it.

You Are What You Eat – ’68 movie I just heard about – “strange, psychedelic, and convoluted” says one site – hippie era. Not for everyone, but I’d be interested in taking a look. Compared to Zappa’s 200 Motels. Another or the same site says infamous acid dealer Super Spade was murdered a few days after this came out, whatever the connection between those two events is. All things are connected, I’ve heard it said.

The Infinity Project: The World of the Acid Dealer – interesting title – YouTube has a nine minute and change “song” – house/techno/trance, whatever it’s called – featured on the Distance to Goa 4, along with “Space Pussy”, a track by Hallucinogen, and “Science Fiction” by Psychaos, Technossomy’s “Androids”, Transwave’s “Land of Freedom”, and “People Can Fly” by Astral Projection. I’d buy this disc.

Uriah Heep – looked up the band’s Wickedpedia for some reason – hardly know their work – “High Priestess” is the only one. But liked it, like the topic, so I probably would like more of them. Something to consider for later purchase. The entry says they were the first Western band to play in Soviet Russia due to the glasnost of Gorbachev.

Zero History – new William Gibson novel due this year – have been a Gibson fan for over two decades. At one site a hardcore fan discusses a possible plot hint, revealed by Gibson at his blog, relating to the Neals Yard section of London. Gibson said it’s now a “Disneylanded bohemia” – looking forward to this book, as I’ve done with all Gibson’s material in years past – coming in September – audiobook on disc is what I want: 9 discs, 11 hours, 40 bucks.

Russell Edward Brand – fiancée of Katy Perry, a pop star singer I like the work of much. Looked up his Wickedpedia – been a busy guy – called a comedian, actor, columnist, and “presenter” – said also to be known for various controversies in the British media, such as prank calls two years ago that led to his resignation from the BBC, the “Beeb”. Seen pictures of the couple – they make a nice, appropriate, non-ordinary pair. Must take a lot to “handle” Perry – have read a quote from her saying that Russell’s one of the few men she hasn’t been able to “steamroller”. I imagine his feelings about her are similar. Wish them well.

“The Flesh and Demons: They Work Together!” – title for a Bible study article I found – when I did a search for a book called Demons of the Flesh. Filed the article away on my flash drive – there’s something there of interest – I mean, in this article, tho’ in my flash drive as well – “The flesh is the gateway to the demonic.” says the article – another line: “Get rid of any unclean spirits that may be working against us.” Not for everyone, this text. I meant the article, but also this blog. Out, ye unclean demons!

Blues Image – band – did “Ride, Captain, Ride” – using the captain metaphor for the woman/women I’m seeking, always seeking. I can navigate, but don’t wanna be a captain, with a ship, crew, and cargo – that’s all the responsibility of a pirate woman. Will read charts, and create them, maybe offer a bit of steering advice. Blood, Sweat & Tears covered the tune – available on YouTube. Which reminds me again, wanna seek out some BST on disc – “Sometimes in Winter” alone is an incredibly beautiful song, worth the cost of the disc by itself alone.

“Don’t You Worry ‘bout a Thing” – Stevie Wonder song – looked up the Wickedpedia – from Innervisions, 1973 – said to “begin with an unusual bit of spoken dialogue” – good way to put it – another album, song to buy and love. “Living for the City” on this one – played that on the Sutter Station digital jukebox not long ago.
